March is National Social Worker Month, and this year we are excited to celebrate Lamonte Mackey, a dedicated social worker who has been making a significant impact in his community for years. Lamonte’s journey into social work began in 2013 when he graduated from Elizabeth City State University with a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW). Since then, he has built an impressive career, working as a Day Treatment Counselor, in Child and Adolescent IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) case management, and later transitioning into Long-Term Care in 2017.

Lamonte’s career in social work reflects his commitment to helping others at every stage of life. Whether working with children or adults, he has always been passionate about making a difference. He has applied his expertise and empathy to guide individuals through some of their toughest moments. His work in Long-Term Care, in particular, has allowed him to make an impact on the lives of seniors, helping them navigate their care and ensure they receive the support they need.
